Youth to Washington Program:

Adams is proud to announce we are once again co-sponsoring the Youth to Washington program with Adams Electric Cooperative and the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives.  We are excited about offering additional area youth opportunities to learn more about our government and cooperatives.  A maximum of 34 applicants will participate in Youth Day in Springfield on April 1.  This day includes visits with state legislators, tours of historical places, and interviews of the 10 finalists from each cooperative to determine the winners of the Youth to Washington tour in June.  We will sponsor two winners on this week-long, all-expense paid trip to our nation’s capitol.

Adams Telephone eligible high schools include: Brown County, Central, Griggsville/Perry, Meredosia-Chambersburg, Southeastern, Unity and Warsaw.  Students must be sophomores or juniors and must complete an application form.  All application forms will be reviewed to select the 34 students for participation in Youth Day and 10 finalists for interviews.  Applications and program guidelines are available in the Marketing Department by calling 877-696-4411.  The deadline for applications was February 20, 2009.
