In 1995 the Illinois Postal Workers Union established the Marjorie Stapleton Scholarship. The scholarship was made possible through a sizable donation from her family and it will by the intent of the IPWU to continue the scholarship in her memory. There will by four (4) annual winners of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each, payable in two (2) installments of five hundred dollars ($500) each.
There shall be one (1) winner per Area.

E. C. HALLBECK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
The original E. C. Hallbeck Memorial Scholarships
are awarded to 10 students, two in each of five geographical regions.
Winners of these academic scholarships are selected on the bases of their
school records, SAT/ACT scores, total family income and personal qualifications.
Winners must attend an accredited college/community college/university
full time; they will receive a scholarship of $1,000 for each of four consecutive
years.
JOHN AND VELLA HILL SCHOLARSHIP
A John and Vella Hill Scholarship goes
to one student who plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in the field
of labor studies and/ or industrial relations. This winner will be
selected on the basis of school records, personal qualifications, leadership,
SAT/ ACT scores, responses to contemporary questions and an essay on "The
Union Way of Life". The emphasis on labor studies/ industrial relations
honors the Hills' dedication to the union. We designed the award
this way, so that the Hills' tremendous contribution to the Hallbeck Scholarship
Fund would be focused on furthering dedication to the labor movement.
Winners must attend an accredited college/ community college/ university
full time; they will receive a scholarship of $1,000 for each of four consecutive
years.
VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
Five or more vocational scholarships will
assist students pursuing a post-high school education that will prepare
them for a vocation to trade. Winners are judged on the basis of
school records, personal qualifications, evidence of a commitment to an
occupation, responses to contemporary questions and an essay on "The Union
Way of Life". They will receive up to $1,000 for three consecutive
years or completion of the course.

The Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund awards scholarships to federal employees and their dependents who receive grants from $300 to $2,000. FEEA awards the scholarships every year to employees and dependents showing financial need. The organization depends on contributions through the Combined Federal Campaign. Applications for the scholarship program are available, and can be had by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:
