COMMON NAME(S): Amur Maple 

LEAF: Three lobed with central lobe dominant; medium to dark green

BARK: grayish brown on truck and old branches; young bark is gray, smooth and has darker striations

FLOWER: small, pale yellow; in clusters, winged fruit typical of acer 

GROWTH: 15 to 20 feet tall columnar trunk, with branches close together 

DISTRIBUTION: Native to parts of China, Manchuria and Japan
