COMMON NAME(S): Domesticated Crab Apple, Crab Tree LEAF: Generally oval, green, darker above than
below. Some are reddish throughout the growing season. BARK: Similar
to Plum or cherry with numerous lenticels.
Usually light brown. FLOWER: Variable. Range from pure white
through pink and red to purplish-red. Five petals. GROWTH: Range in height from 8 – 50’. Most under 20’. Wide, rounded crowns. A few have pendulous branches. DISTRIBUTION: Throughout the U.S. LOCATION: Chapel Valley Subdivision, Quincy, IL |
