Leaf Bark Tree Flower/Cone/Fruit

COMMON NAME(S):  Flowering Cherry 

LEAF: Alternate leaves, oval with toothed edges

BARK: Rough gray-brown, pitted, can be deep reddish in some species

FLOWER: White or pink, single and profuse

GROWTH: 25-30 feet, but can be as much as 75 feet

DISTRIBUTION: Temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere and into the Andes of South America
