Leaf Bark Tree Flower/Cone/Fruit

COMMON NAME(S): Japanese Maple

LEAF: 5 to 9 lobes, oblong-acuminate, serrated or incised, smooth stalks

BARK: Gray-brown with furrows and small scales

FLOWER: Purplish pink, crowing in corymbs.  Fruit are disamaras with the wings set at an obtuse angle

GROWTH: 16 to 26 feet tall with a domed crown

DISTRIBUTION: Originally from China, Korea, and Japan
