Leaf Bark Tree Flower/Cone/Fruit

COMMON NAME(S): Northern White Cedar – Arbor Vitae 

LEAF: Occur in flattened sprays that typically are aligned vertically. 

BARK: Fibrous with numerous cross-thatched ridges. 

FLOWER: Cones more or less bell-shaped, about ½” long. 

GROWTH: Medium-sized, height 40’ – 50’; diameter 2’ – 3’. 

DISTRIBUTION: A slender evergreen of the swamps, in the eastern U.S. and n.e. Canada.
