LEAF: needle 2” to 4” long, occurring 5 to a bundle, long and slender 

BARK: not scaly, but dark with deep furrows 

FLOWER: strobiles, slender, tapering, thornless, 3” to 10” long 

GROWTH: 80’ to 110’ 

DISTRIBUTION: Southeastern Canada to Northeastern U.S.
