The Health and Safety Department teaches classes based in communities across the nation. Each year Red Cross instructors certify an average of 7 million people in Red Cross health and safety courses, which include Red Cross CPR, first aid and lifeguard training.
These courses in turn help make our communities healthier, safer places to live. Red Cross Chapters provide instructors in the workplace to teach employees these courses and others such as back injury prevention and stress management.
The Red Cross is also very concerned with athletes so we have designed a class for coaches and trainers called "Sports Safety". It is very helpful in keeping our athletes safe and if they are hurt, we can keep the injuries smaller.
